1. Lay out sail with logos facing up.
2. If you need to insert the top batten, insert the tensioner backwards thought the line as you see on other battens.
Remove set screw.
Insert batten backwards though the tensioner until batten tip meets the tensioner. Lift edge of batten pocket, and insert batten all the way into the pocket.
With the allen key tool, push the batten into the tensioner, while pulling on the tensioner.
Insert set screw, and tension with allen key tool.
3. If the foot batten is not installed, insert batten into pocket with the tensioner attached, and set screw in place. Do not thread the line, slide batten over it. Push batten in all the way, and remove set screw. With a screwdriver, lift line over tensioner end and into groove. Tension with allen key tool
4. Slide mast up mast sleeve, and down haul sail firmly . If you are using a mast longer than recommended on the sail, adjust the webbing top accordingly. We strongly recommend the correct mast for this sail to twist properly, with a longer mast it will not perform as designed.
5. Attach boom and outhaul sail completely flat. Then down haul sail fully, until luff of sail is taut and upper leech drops into pre-twisted position. (See guide at top of sail).
Down haul sail according to the guide near the top of the sail. Sail should lay on ground to "see" looseness in leech. The Slide will not perform properly with low down haul tension.
Release the outhaul to the "zero" position (no outhaul tension). Outhaul sail about 10cm, or until 2nd batten down "unrotates". Avoid sailing with excessive draft shape. A good way to test your outhaul setting is to push your hand into the body of the sail near your harness lines. If the sail will allow you to push in more than 3-4 inches (7-10cm), it is too full. Outhaul more.
Tension all remaining battens with allen key tool. Battens should be tensioned to remove vertical wrinkles.
DO NOT OVER TENSION.
Note: If foot batten is over tensioned, it will not rotate in light wind. Ease until rotation is working.
Keep sail out of sunlight when not in use. The sun's U.V. rays will do more damage to a sail than any other cause over a period of years.
Never crush sail in bag. Stand sail on luff sleeve end only!
De-rigging
1. Release outhaul tension.
2. Remove boom from mast.
3 Release down haul tension.
4. Pull mast out of sleeve.
5. Do not release tension from battens, unless sail will not be used for months.
