The same shape, outline, and cut of the Mach 1.1, but with a narrow sleeve, and X-ply reinforcing. 1, 2, & 3 cam design depending on sail size. The perfect choice for the serious speedster.
The all new Sonic is a truly simple concept sail: Take the Mach 1.1 and reduce the cambers and one batten. During photo shoots in July, most of the riders could barely feel a speed or handling difference between the Mach 1.1 and the Sonic! Of course they were not racing, but the silky smooth feel of the Mach 1.1 comes through loud and clear in the Sonic. The sail is actually made up of 3 sails, a 1, 2, and 3 cam design. The single camber below the boom is used on the 3.5-5.0 sizes, one cam above and below the boom are placed on the 5.5-6.5 sizes, and the large sizes all have 3 cams.
The Crossbow batten system developed by Philippe Massat is used on the non cam battens giving the sail a unique look and doing a perfect job of controlling the leech and twist of the top of the sail. The sail has 3 of our top of the line epoxy tube battens, The cams are NOT fixed and allow a wide range of masts to be used with this sail.
Expect a lot from the Sonic, you will not be disappointed.
