is the perfect blend of old and new. The old is the style of construction
and the attitude of "this sail must last" and the new is all the
latest research and development in regards to shaping systems and and plan
form for todays boards.
The design is a conservative blend of power and control, with an emphasis
on control. The control band is wide with exceptional mid and upper wind
range handling characteristics.
The Ozone wave is the antithesis of the monofilm wave sail. It is quiet,
loaded with smooth silky power, very colorful and is built to last and last.
The construction is unique and painstaking. The sail has 38 separate panels,
(most sails have 3 to 6) and uses a "fan" overlapping system to
create the structural reinforcing at the 3 corners of the sail. No corner
patches are added to the sail and this keeps the sail a reasonable weight,
while having incomparable durability. The sail cloths used include a non
laminated polyester in the low load "flex zones", single side
polyester laminate in the upper body panels for lightweight strength and
U.V. resistance, and our bombproof triple laminate along the foot and window
areas for maximum puncture, and abrasion resistance. The combination not
only makes for great durability but a unique "silent" effect due
to the softer materials. No loud bangs and rattles during landings and jibes!
